Mr. Edward "Buck" Toms, 88, (US Army Ret.) of Point of Rocks, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at the Holy Cross Hospital Germantown. He was the husband of the late Quinella Muse Toms. Born in Point of Rocks on October 28, 1929, he was a son of the late Alvie E., Sr., and Mollie Harne Toms.
Buck was retired from the United States Army with over 20 years and served during the Korean War. He was also retired from NIH with 20 years where he worked as a police officer. He was a member of the NRA and the North American Hunt Club.
Surviving are his children, Cynthia Warnock and husband Wayne, Roxanna Mercer, Quinella Miller and husband Gary, John E. Mercer and Norman D. Mercer III, brother, Kenneth Toms and wife Nancy, sister, Evelyn Goff, sister-in-law, Jeannette Toms, and many grandchildren great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Marjorie Grams, Constance Simmons, Carroll Toms, Richard Toms, Alvie E. Toms, Jr., Oliver Toms, Charles Toms and Allan Toms.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, October 22, 2018, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Rev. Edward Hartman, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mt. Bethel UMC Cemetery, Foxville.
