Ms. Elizabeth Hodges "Liza" Brown, 65, of Frederick, passed away on
Friday, October 12, 2018, at the Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She
was the wife of Randy L. Wixom. Born on February 15, 1953 in Stamford,
CT, she was a daughter of the late Herbert E. and Alida Haller Brown.
Liza had a great love for children and worked most of her life as an
educator with Head Start. Following in her family footsteps, she enjoyed
gardening and flowers. She also had a strong affection for rescue
Greyhounds. Liza was a member at All Saints Episcopal Church, where
she enjoyed working the holiday Gifts and Greens sale.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Luisa Wixom
Nunez and husband Sergio, of Nashville, TN and Mary Jane Wixom, of
Gaithersburg, one sister, Caroline Linn and husband Steven, of Maple
Shade, NJ, three Grandchildren, Ava, Rhys and Milania, nieces Allison,
Sara and their children, all of CA. She was preceded in death by two
brothers, Stuart and Keith Brown.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, November 3,
2018, at the All Saints Episcopal Church, 106 West Church Street,
Frederick. Interment will follow in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Greyhound
Pet Adoption Maryland, Inc. or the flower guild at All Saints Episcopal
Church.
Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East
Church Street, Frederick.
