Helen Frances Shewbridge

August 8, 1923 — October 29, 2018

Mrs. Helen Frances Shewbridge. 95, of Smithsburg and formerly of Frederick, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018, at the Fahrney-Keedy Home, in Boonsboro. She was the wife of the late Donald Lee Shewbridge. Born in Buckeystown on August 8, 1923, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Mamie Warfield Dixon.
For most of her life she worked as a seamstress, having spent many years at Frederick Tailoring Company. She had lived for sometime with her niece, Brenda Keagan in Smithsburg.
Surviving are her grandchildren, Wesley Shewbridge and Doris, Angie Mavis and David,several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son. Larry Shewbridge and siblings, Russell, George and Bernard Dixon, Leona Castle and Ellen LaFratte.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, November 2, 2018, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. The Rev. Tim Seek, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
