Mrs. Marguerite Jean Lentz, 91, of Frederick, died Friday, November 2, 2018 at Homewood at Frederick Crumland Farms. She was the wife of the late Rodney Lentz, who preceded her in death in 1988. Born October 3, 1927 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth Blumenauer. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years serving in several leadership positions. She loved to travel with her family and friends. In her spare time, Jean was an avid bowler, golfer, and gardener. She enjoyed sewing for her family and friends and was a seamstress for Hood College making the uniform jackets for students. The past few years she enjoyed word find books and jigsaw puzzles. She was always ready for a challenging puzzle. Another passion of Jean’s was playing bingo on Wednesday nights at the Crestwood Village Clubhouse. It was rare for her to miss an evening of fun with her friends and family. She is survived by her children, Cyndi Lake (Tom), Janet Kendall (John) and John Lentz II (Terri), grandchildren, Keri Albright, Teresa Conto, Rodney Lake, Tommy Lake, Angie Hill, Jeff Lake, Jennifer Osborne, Shawna Lentz, John Lentz III, Sara Haugh, Katy Carroll and Courtney Lentz, twin sister, Jane Doll (Jack) and Robert Blumenauer, 24 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.3. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Curtis Lentz, sister, June Starr, brother Bo Blumenauer, and sister-in-law, Betty Blumenauer.A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM, on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701 with the family receiving friends an hour prior. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
