Carol raised four children, traveled the world with her husband, and lived her faith, serving as Relief Society President, Primary President, and counselor in the Young Women's Presidency. She faithfully supported her husband Vern as he served as a counselor and then a bishop for a total of 15 years. From 2002-2004, she and Vern served together as humanitarian service missionaries in Thailand. She was a respected and talented musician, teaching music at the Maryland School for the Deaf, and playing both organ and piano at church. She enjoyed volunteering in
the TOPS Club, Frederick chapter. She taught her children by her own example that true joy is found in service.
Carol is survived by her husband, Vern, of the home, and her sisters Elaine Hawkins of Mission Viejo, CA and Joye Cluff (Rulon) of Provo, UT. She is also survived by her four children, Gregory Bean (Donita) of Corning, NY, Scot Bean (Lisa) of Loveland, CO, Charis Duke (David) of Philadelphia, PA, and Laura, of the home, nine grandchildren, Emily Crandell (Adam), Jared Bean, Trevor Bean (Rachelle), Joshua Bean (MacKenzie), Sarah Knechtel (Wyatt), Spencer Bean, Catherine Streeter (Andrew), Benjamin Duke, and Sylvia Duke, and two great-grandchildren,
Milo and Jack Streeter.
The funeral will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 10:00 am with a viewing at 9 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1811 Latham Drive, Frederick,MD. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery immediately following. Flowers welcome at Keeney & Basford P.A. Funeral Home.
