Elsie Marlene Crummitt

Mrs. Elsie Marlene Crummitt, 70, of Jefferson, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at her home. She was the wife and best friend of 50 years to John W. Crummitt. Elsie was born in Cumberland, KY, on June 15, 1948, she was a daughter of the late William and Eunice Patrick Keaton.
Elsie worked for several years as a veterinary assistant for local veterinarians. She had a great love for animal's, nature, horseback riding, hiking, cooking and gardening. Her greatest passion was her grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband, is her daughter, Melanie L. Moss and husband Mike, of Boonsboro, siblings, Paul Keaton, Johnny Ray Keaton and Christine, Billy and Patty Keaton, Jimmy Keaton and Lois Keaton; grandchildren, Kyler Skeens and wife Mary and Brandi Pyle, great grandchildren, Molly and Waylon, and many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her long time special friend,Shirley Landon and sister-in-law, Polly Keeney. She was preceded in death by, her son Michael A. Johnson, a brother, Tommy Keaton and sister, Darlene Dawson
The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m., on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Jefferson.
